But when you pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you.’ ( Matthew 6:6)

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

Matthew 6

There was  a lady who had trusted in Jesus. You may think that is not unusual. However, this lady had suffered with MS for many years and in all that time her faith remained as strong as ever. Never once did anyone hear her complain about her condition; yes, she prayed to her Saviour about it but she didn’t complain to him. Not only did she accept her condition as being what God wanted for her but she used it to give help to others and showed them, through the way that she lived her life, that faith is the key to a right relationship with God. Not content with just showing it she wrote a small booklet which explained how she overcame her disabilities and used them in the service of God. The booklet is called ‘Step by Step by Prayer’. Please contact us if you would like to be able to have a copy to see what prayer is capable of doing.

Closing Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for the those who have lived a prayerful life and who have now gained their reward with you. Let us follow their example and let prayer be at the heart of our life. Amen.
